Dry Hydrants for Warren CountyWarren Electric has aided in funding for 25 (to date) DRY HYDRANTS installed in Warren County to improve Rural Fire Protection. A dry hydrant is usually constructed of PVC pipe permanently installed in a pond. It is referred to as "dry" because it is not pressurized like a fire hydrant in a town. Dry hydrants greatly reduce the travel time for a fire truck to refill its tanks and return to the rural fire, thus improving fire protection in rural areas. |
